Strange Angels
Laurie Anderson
1989: Warner Bros 9 25900 2
This album came out about the time I first went to Paris, near the end of 1989. I bought a cassette of it while I was there because I needed a little something familiar on hand to help me with the struggle of dealing with the language, trying to find out why I had gone at all, etc. And instead I found myself listening to Laurie Anderson singing ! Once the shock passed, I was really impressed with the range and quality of the lyricsBaby Doll Id heard years before when shed performed it on Saturday Night Live, but Ramon really caught me. And Coolsville is to this day one of those tracks I can listen to 50 times in a row without getting tired of it that is one seriously solid track with attitude to spare.
